I am one of those people who 'do now' and learn from the mistakes.  However, after much wasted funds on turning expensive stone into rubble I decided that I better stop and learn what I am suppose to do.  If I only had read some of the following books first, I would have saved hundreds of dollars and countless headaches and battered hands.

Although I am one of those people who can not stand to read as I would rather learn by doing, I have found great satisfaction and gained great pleasure by reading these books and learning from the talented authors who I thank for giving your knowledge to all of us.

Besides writing great books, I have found that some of them go beyond the call and duty to help whenever necessary. Bob Patten, Dc and Val Waldorf have all gone out of their way to reply to questions that I have sent and I can not thank them enough.

The Art of Flint Knapping by D. C. Waldorf.  This book is perfect for any level of knapping.  I myself had never seen it done or even heard that it was still being done.  Everything that I have learnt to start knapping came from this book.  It is well worth the reasonable price.

The Art of Making Primitive Bows and Arrows, Revised Edition by D.C. Waldorf. Living in an area where Osage or Yew doesn't grow, other books didn't help me.  But this book covers numerous trees providing advice on each.  I read it one day and built my first bow the next.  In addition, it has other useful hints on constructing bow strings and arrows.  It is one of my favourite books in my collection.

Old Tools-New Eyes - by Bob Patten (Knapperbob).  This was one of the best books yet.  It gives a different look on knapping than other related books do.  It was so good that I read it front to end in Cozumel on my honeymoon to the disapproval of my new wife!

The Traditional Bowyer's Bible - If you are into archery then this is a must!

My new video.
