Hi and thanks for dropping by. First let me give special thanks to my friend Travis for being so kind as to include me on his web site. I am Sparrow and my wife is Ruth. Our home is in the mountains of central Arizona. We do a lot of rock hounding, produce stone tools and raise emus. I have been flintknapping since 1974 when a burning desire hit me to learn how the beautiful stone tools of the past were made. I am a professional flintknapper and my work is internationally collected. The majority of my work is wholesaled out to shops and to other artists who incorporate my work into theirs. Some of my work is auctioned off at Ebay which is a fun place for us to be, it breaks the monotony of our everyday production routine. We have met many nice people through ebay and are there to stay. In order to answer some of the questions I am often asked and define my work the following applies. My work is mostly done using the traditional flintknapping methods. Most of the points I make using stone native to my area are done by knapping a flake or blade that has been struck from a core with a hammerstone or antler billet. I do work with rock slabs when making arrowheads out of expensive exotic rock that we have to buy from rock shops. This allows me to make artistic points out of rock that would otherwise be impossible or impractical. I never use rock grinders to pre-shape my arrowheads or grind ridges that the flakes will follow with precision. If you have the time please feel free to check out my web page or my auctions at ebay by the link below. Thanks for reading, Sparrow
